How to choose the right property
February 24th, 2010
When you are looking to rent somewhere, the key to making a wise choice is to know what you are looking for. The first step in this process is to work out in your own mind what your priorities are. These are some of the factors that people often consider:
Size: how many bedrooms and living rooms do you need?
Type of Area: do you want to live in a quiet area or would you rather be in a busy place, perhaps with shops and entertainment nearby?
Public transport: do you need to be near a bus route to get to work? If you work in Newcastle, you may want to be near the railway station.
Décor and presentation: are you very particular about the internal condition and style of the property or are other factors more important to you?
Garden: is a garden vital to you or would you be OK with a back yard or even no outdoor space at all?
Garage: not many people keep their car in the garage nowadays, but perhaps you have a special sports car, motorbike or bicycles that need to be kept somewhere safe?
Price: last but not least, what is your budget and how rigid is it?
Having worked out some priorities, the next stage is to get on the internet (www.cathedrallettings.comwould be a good start!) and see what’s available. You will quickly find out if your budget is big enough. If it is, then you are ready to contact us and start looking at properties. If not, then you need to ask yourself, can I afford a higher budget or must I trim back some of my requirements? Either way, any good letting agent will be delighted to help you and (once they understand your requirements) may be able to come up with some helpful suggestions of properties that you hadn’t previously considered. Why not start with Cathedral Lettings? Just give us a ring on 0191 374 1234.
